People have asked why there was no book launch.
People have asked why there was no book launch.
The honest answer is that I was tired.
Not the kind of tired that sleep fixes.
The kind that arrives after a long period of listening, writing, questioning, refining, and attempting to put language around things that are often difficult to name.
When I finished the book, I found myself in an unexpected place.
I wasn’t immediately ready to promote it.
I wasn’t ready to stand on a stage and celebrate it.
I wasn’t even entirely sure what it was.
The experience felt strangely similar to what some people describe after birth. You spend so long carrying something, shaping it, living alongside it, that when it finally arrives, there is a quiet emptiness where the process used to be.
The traditional rhythm would have been a launch. Events. Visibility. Momentum.
But something in me knew that wasn’t what was needed.
So I paused.
Not because the work wasn’t important.
Because it was.
And sometimes the most honest thing we can do after creating something significant is stop long enough to understand what has actually emerged.
